American Zoo Gauguin
When an eccentric idealist predicts today’s climate crisis in the 1990s, he builds a recreation of Earth in which to secretly test a series of climate disasters. When 8 scientists volunteer to live inside of this facility for two years, one anti-social woman among them notices these environmental problems and faces the difficulty of rallying the crew to solve them — revealing the group’s selfish and self-righteous impulses.
In 2020, American Zoo was a finalist for the Sundance Institute’s Alfred P. Sloan Development Grant for science-based screenplays.
